We are excited to be on vacation for a bit. We hopped on an interisland flight to Kauai for a littler R and R. Day one was exciting. We had a few kinks in our day but are making the best of it. Our flight was delayed and had to reboard a new plane. We ended up getting in an hour later then our original arrival time. The girls had an early morning and a long day. Dad had some work to do when we arrived and afterwards we were able to play and enjoy some beach. We hiked up just to the top of Kalalau trail. It was muddy and slippery, but the view was great. After our hike we enjoed about an hour of beach time and headed back to our cottage. By the time we checked in it was 6pm. Getting around the island from one side to the other takes about an 1 1/2 hours. There is also one road around the island. We were all exhausted. We ate dinner on base at Shenannigans. I had a taco bowl, the girls ate chicken. We then went home and put the girls to bed.
