Duty Calls

Yesterday our friends moved away and many of us are sad. Someone is eventually going to move but are you really ever ready to say goodbye to good friends. Thats the military lifestyle. We will miss them very much hope to see them in the near future. Not only is it hard on us but I cannot imagine how the kids feel.
Daddy got called to an emergency yesterday afternoon around 3 and ended up coming home at 3 this afternoon and now having some much needed zzz's. We hope the dog continues to recover well from is GDV..
Not a whole lot to write but here are some recent photos......

Easter has passed a O's is still carrying around her purse full of eggs. These little eggs were a dime a dozen in Kauai and we bought at least 4 bags and on Oahu they were no where to be found. Little sis is also following in the footsteps of her big sis, she too loves to play with them taking them apart and putting them back together and if she can't do it she asks O's for help. Sat 3/11 the girls got to decorate their eggs, well K wanted nothing to do with it. Our friends came over to help out. We made use of the dye by also coloring shorts and T shirts as well. By request of the husband he wants cinnamon rolls every Easter so I also got them put together for the morning. Our afternoon was filled with a fun filled church event. We met in Kaneohe to get on the bus for a ride over to Thomas Square Park across from the Blaisdell center a church Ohana picnic. The weather was great we couldn't have asked for anything better. The had an Easter Egg hunt for the keiki, bingo, volleyball, horseshoes and music. One of the girls from children's church was there, and she loves playing with the girls and helped us chase them around that afternoon. We walked across to the Blaisdell Center for a 6pm Easter Service partnered with New Hope Oahu with Pastor Wayne. It was exciting to see Michael English perform at the service. The girls did well going someplace new for children's church. The set up with 8 craft tables helped a lot. Its O's favorite activity. By the time we got in it was 10pm.
Easter Sunday was more or less low key. The girls each got a basket and searched for eggs around the house. After the morning in the Hot tub we had our cinnamon rolls, and shared with the neighbors. I later ran to the grocery store and O's and dad worked on our chalkboard wall. Hopefully we will get that up soon. Our neighbor is moving :( so we had a going away gathering for her Sunday evening. She will really be missed. So Wednesday is here and the C family joined us for the morning at Hickam Beach. So quiet and peaceful... Except for the meltdown my girls had when the noon hour hit. Good naps thought today.

Now I am typing and watching Mission Impossible on the food network. I am so glad Robert Irvine is back. Strange combo recipes on tonights show... Lemon soup, p-nut butter chili, salmon cupcakes, pineapple cookies, apple sushi and more..Hmm

The girls have gotten back into a napping routine, Yeah for me. I was hoping it wouldn't carry over from vacation. Although the last 2 weeks when K gets up she will scream for at least a half hour if I don't just sit and hold her. I hope this doesn't last much longer. Spring break carried over the week we got back and we tried to keep busy. Monday we visited the zoo with some friends that we meet while in Valdosta. We haven't been able to get together with them since before thanksgiving. Its hard to believe that their 2 years are up this summer. We went to check out a new playground round the corner on Tuesday before play morning. The girls would have been content to stay there all day. Its good we were there a little boy had gotten his leg stuck in one of the bars and was hanging upside down and was unable to get free by himself.
Sat early morning I volunteered at our MOPS garage sale. 6-9am. A little rough for me Thank you Friday night. After the garage sale we headed to the zoo with the neighbors and had lunch at Jimmy Buffets Beachcomber. Unfortunately they only let them know a 1/2 hour before he shows up. But really nicely decorated.
This last week O had school on Tues, but Thursday when I dropped her off she had a fever 0f 100.9 so we had to go back home and re plan our day. We visited the library. I like the library, don't get me wrong but 2 toddlers, and one little 22 month old that LOVES to clean off the library shelves is not my idea of fun. This is a one child at a time time kinda thing.
Friday was their highlight day at Barbers point stables. We dis play dough, played in the birdseed bin. At 10 the kids had their egg hunt. Their limit was six eggs. K went well but the other one a little out of sorts. Not enough eggs out for all the kids. In the end they all got six eggs but I dumped them out later for them to find. It's a good thing their 2-4. You could put them out over and over and they still have a blast. (chip on the other hand below my feet is playing hockey with half an egg.)
So our plans today include a low key morning of catch up(hopefully do our chalk board wall) prepare cinnamon rolls for the morning, and we are attend New Hopes Easter Service at the Blaisdell Center. We are excited. Pastor Wayne is great to listen to. http://www.newhope.com/
Probably 10 Min's left and Kira will be screaming ma me, ma me......
