Fun on Oahu

We spent the day at Waimea Bay Beach Park, home of the biggest surfing waves on the island of Oahu. During the winter, surfing waves can reach heights of up to 30-50 feet. During the summer it is great for swimming. This is the home of the largest, most dangerous and spectacular surf in the world.

The waves rock Kira to sleep
We had lunch in Haleiwa Town at a place called Pizza Bob's. Unfortunately we didn't stop for their famous shaved ice. The kids were wiped out and the lines are super long. Maybe next time
Entertainment watching the fishes

I took the girls to Sea Life park on Friday. They had lots of fun. It was very hot. We tried to hit the shade as much as we could. By the 1:00 dolphin show Olivia was wiped out not to mention overheated. We went with the play morning group and the Aunties were so helpful with the girls. Mahalo to them.

This is cool because where ever you look you see the ocean.

Manoa Falls

This morning we got the girls up and went on a little hike to Manoa Falls. When we got there there was one other car in the parking lot, and he was on his way down as we were just starting. The girls did awesome in the back pack carriers. Since the falls are close to the mountains it was a little wet and muddy. The trail is not to long about 1 1/2 mile hike. There wasn't much water going down the falls but it sure is high up at about 150 feet and falls into a small pool at the bottom. It was a fun hike the only bad thing that went wrong is that I had given this cup to Kira to drink out of and half way to the end she drops it down the hill. I guess I will learn to tether her cups or she doesn't get one.

Kira and I take a picture break Shoe adjustment before the steps down After we finished up our hike we headed to brunch at The Oceanarium Resturant in the Pacific Beach Hotel. It has an aquarium in it that holds 280,000 gallons of water with about 400 fish. I was a little embarrassed because Jay forgot his tennis shoes and I forgot slippers to wear so our feet were a little muddy, but we were hungry. The food was yum-o. The brunch it self cost about 21 a person and the kiddos ate off our plates. As far as price goes you can easily spend that a person a Chilli's , but you have tons more food choices. I went straight to the prime rib carving station and omelet station. We enjoyed poke, crab legs with peel and shrimp. I tried the salmon and pork dish with pineapple. Lots of fresh fruits, cheeses and crackers-not to mention the array of desserts.

Its amazing how you can have a community pool or baby pool, but what they enjoy most is a tub of water with toys. The girls like playing out in the front with the rubbermaid tubs of water. Its shady and they can go inside wnever they want or I want. Kira is a climber. She tumbled trying to get in the chair, but finally was successful.

We rode the Ewa train this morning with dad. He got to take off the morning

Olivia was tired pretty quick

Since we were on that side of town we checked out Iroquois Point, and also had lunch

Olivia and Mommy day

Friday July 11Th was spent a special day just for Olivia and Mom. Kira got to spend the day at the neighbor's(thank you :) )while Olivia and I had some quality fun time together. She was so excited walking into the park she was dancing, I thought she was going to pee in her pants when she saw what was waiting for her. There are 2 great areas that the little ones can play in. The toddler area has 2 slides that we went on about a dozen times each and this area is for the kids just a little bigger. The green slide was fast and wet. There is a pink slide just behind that that loops a few times and falls into a pool about 3 1/2 feet deep which is not that deep, but when your coming down a slide with a 2.5 yr old that is not that fond of getting her face wet yet that's a whole new game. Of course I really enjoyed the lazy tube ride and so did Olivia. She got hit at least twice with the splashing water fall.
Saturday Jay helped the neighbor fix her car. Olivia played with her kids. It was fun to watch her interact with her daughter since she is about 4 years older then Olivia. We had a date night that evening. Can you believe it? We went to dinner at a resturant called Top of Waikiki. It revolves 360 continually while you are enjoying dinner. We probably made it around 1 1/2 times by the time dinner was over. If you are really sensitive(like me) you can feel it. Dinner was good I had beef wellington and J had the Lamb. We walked downtown for a little bit and there are some sights to see. It is a happening place unlike are place where we goto bed at 9:30-10:00

Monday I dragged the girls to the outlets for some returns and shopping. They get to ride the toys as a thank you from mom for going and being good, most of the timeTonight Olivia had some fun with dad puting her fire truck together. This is one of her best toys. Everything on it comes apart with the screwdriver.
